The Foxes cultivate a small tree, Perspicientia, which is native to Birdmoss. Its oversized seeds are known to increase one’s powers of perception. The Foxes quicken the seeds with sap, then preserve and drill them to creating viewing devices. Looking through your seed-bead’s tiny peephole, you see that some objects in the cottage sparkle, even in the dimming light.
Another property of this seed: Its color changes when held in the hand of someone Birdmoss-born.
Add your color-changing mirage bead to a necklace, carry it as a comforting worry stone, or display it with your other curiosities. This translucent polymer bead is imbued with thermosensitive liquid crystals so that it achieves a variety of jewel-like colors in different temperatures. It is presented on a card with a bit of verse. To extend its color-changing properties, keep it out of direct sun and do not submerge it in water.
