In Birdmoss, Dogs are invited indoors for the winter. They warm themselves by the fire,
then warm the beds of their hosts.
The Frogs find comfort in hallowed proportions. The same ratios that describe a whorl of petals in a new-blooming flower have been found in nature since ancient times.
This goniatite fossil has been shaped into a “button” and polished. It is Devonian in age (390 million years old) and was quarried from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. Colors and patterns vary.
The Fossil Button was featured in Twelve Nights in Birdmoss (2024 advent calendar).
