The Birdmoss Box is an immersive fairy tale told through mysterious documents, poems and prose, and a monthly box of sensory delights.

Your boxes are accompanied by poetry and prose which tell of a gifted Dreamer. You are that Dreamer, and this is your story. (Some letters and documents arrive inside your monthly box; others are emailed to you.)

September: Encounter the Sacred Oak.
Time moves differently for the Trees as their lives are marked, not by heartbeats, but by the slow and consistent whoosh of sap. While each Tree has a unique awareness, collectively with other elements (stone, moss) they are the Forest. Dozens of microclimates knit together in a sort of nervous system, relaying signals through the canopy.
The very center of the Forest is inhabited by an ancient Oak. The stories say that she was not planted, but instead sprouted by chance from the acorn of an even older ancestral Tree. She is so large that it is impossible to see all of her at once. If you back away to widen your perspective, your view is blocked by her many children and the other Trees which encircle her. The Sacred Oak relays the energies and messages which pass from grove to grove. All signals pass through her; all root systems lead to her; and the most sublime rituals are performed at her foot.
